هذا المؤلف اسرائيلي ولكنه لا صهيوني. يرفض الاحتلال بل يرفض المنظومة الاستعمارية الاستيطانية التي نشأت ليس مع قيام دولة اسرائيل بل منذ قيام الانتداب وبدء التحضير لقيام وطن قومي لليهود. يدعو لدولة واحدة ولكن ليس على طريقة منظمة التحرير وإنما دولة يكون فيها بالإمكان لمن يرغب من المستوطنين البقاء والعيش ضمن الدولة كمواطنين وبمساواة مع الفلسطينيين بما في ذلك عودة اللاجئين إلى ديارهم. كما يقول في كتابه ليس الهدف مما يكتبه التنظير حول الموضوع وإنما تقديم تصور كيف يمكن تحقيق تلك الرؤية للدولة الواحدة الديمقراطية. استمتعت بقراءة الكتاب ومشاعري حول ما قرأته من أفكار مترددة أحيانا ومتحيرة أحيانا أخرى. أحتاج لاستيعاب ما قاله من خلال قراءة آخرين حول نفس الموضوع.
